Education & Training

Ashley Yates graduated with a Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona. Ashley began her dermatology career at UCSF's Department of Dermatology, where she had the privilege of training under Dr. Tina Bhutani. During her time at UCSF, Ashley has built a strong foundation in medical dermatology, working alongside specialists in melanoma oncology and serving as a research study project manager for a national hidradenitis suppurativa registry.

Specialties & Certifications

Ashley is a board-certified Physician Assistant and Diplomate Fellow of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. She has a strong interest in complex inflammatory skin conditions, including hidradenitis suppurativa and psoriasis, as well as in skin cancer prevention and early detection. Ashley values patient education and strives to ensure each person feels informed and confident about their skin health. Her research efforts have contributed to publications in leading medical journals such as Nature and JCI Insight.

Outside of the clinic, Ashley enjoys spending time outdoors—whether backpacking, golfing, or playing tennis.
